Hyderabad: The Telangana government on Monday issued a request allocating 1,000 square yards of land close Hyderabad to expert shuttler Pusarla Venkata Sindhu as a token of gratefulness for winning a silver award in the 2016 Rio Olympics.

The land is situated in Shaikpet town of Hyderabad region.

"The administration (of Telangana), after cautious examination, thus acknowledges the proposition of the locale authority, Hyderabad that two adjoining plots in Shaikpet town can be consolidated to cut out a 1,000 square yards plot to apportion the same to Miss PV Sindhu, badminton player, for having won a silver award in Rio Olympics, as a piece of government motivating force," the request said.

Sindhu turned into the primary Indian lady competitor to snatch a silver in the Olympics when she lost a nearby last conflict against World No 1 Carolina Marin of Spain.

Not long after her deed, the state government congratulated the 21-year-old shuttler with Rs 5 crore money and reported she will be apportioned a private plot in the state capital.

Sindhu is at present in real life in the Premier Badminton League and speaks to the Chennai Smashers. In a rehash of the Rio Olympics last, she lost to Marin in a PBL coordinate on 1 January.
